Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! Appointments are required at Baby Bumps. We do this to provide the best possible experience for mom and baby.

  • After decades of medical studies on ultrasounds, it has been determined that ultrasounds are not linked to any maternal or fetal harm. Routine scanning during pregnancy is a normal procedure and our scans use the exact same type an intensity of ultrasonic waves as the 2D scans used by your doctor.

  • Our ultrasounds are elective. Insurance, sadly, does not cover this cost. We accept cash, Visa, American Express, Mastercard, all debit cards and digital payment apps.

  • Absolutely! We have seating for up to 5 people including you. Even if you have a few more loved ones than that, bring them too! If they are unable to attend, you will get a recording of your session afterwards. You can share that recording as much as you’d like!

  • As a mom, I know how important it is to get this right. Sadly, I can’t promise it will happen perfect each time. In some cases, baby may not be turned the proper way, looking away from the scan completely. We do not recommend waiting longer than 34 weeks for your 3D scans.

Every baby is different! Image quality depends on their age, position and how much amniotic fluid there is.

That said, I promise I will do my very best to get the best images possible!

  • This depends on what you want to see! By 8 weeks, a heartbeat is usually visible. By 16 weeks, we can tell gender. In our opinion, the best pictures come between 22-34 weeks. Scans after 34 weeks have the chubbiest cheeks, but we can't get whole baby shots anymore. Regardless of when you come in, we will get the very best pictures we can!

  • No! This is an elective ultrasound and you must have an established healthcare provider to diagnose any pregnancy-related issues, scan for anomalies or choose a due date.

This should NEVER take the place of a complete diagnostic ultrasound.

  • Baby Bumps provides a non diagnostic 2D/3D/4D ultrasound to help develop your bond with your little one. These images can help you and your family connect with your unborn baby and prepare for their arrival. Ultrasounds are for entertainment purposes ONLY. No medical advice will be given.

  • Hydrate! This is the single best thing you can do, and it starts a day or two before your scan. The more hydrated you are, the easier we can see baby. If you are in your first trimester, coming in with a full bladder will also help us get the best views possible. It's also a good idea to drink something cold and sugary (like orange juice) just before your scan so that baby perks up for us!
